Who: Individuals aged 16 and up, with or without refugee or migration backgrounds. Limited spots available.

Input: Memes – Forms and Origins of Satirical Imagery

A brief lecture will provide insights into the history and use of memes. You’ll discover that memes are much more than just internet images—they can include songs, music videos, and other creative forms.

Meme Production: Get Creative!

Now it’s time to get hands-on: You’ll have the opportunity to create your own memes:

1. Guided Topic: “Society and Me”
Under the guidance of the facilitator, you’ll dive into the method of reflecting on societal issues and your own identity. Together, we’ll explore how personal and societal topics can be expressed through memes.

2. Free Design
Now it’s your turn to be creative! You can choose your own topics and transform them into memes. The sky’s the limit—experiment with different apps and let your imagination run wild!

The workshop leader is Daniel Aberl, a media education specialist at JFF – Institute for Media Education. He focuses primarily on the creative use of media. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a colorful variety of self-produced memes, critical reflection processes, and hopefully, a lot of fun! Participation is possible even with limited German language skills.

Participation is free of charge.
